Hi, this is an article I posted on september the third. Enjoy
Yesterday I went back to school. I am now in 8th grade at the french school "Lycée Vincent Van Gogh" in the Hague wich is one of the best international schools in the Hague. They even have their own website (in several languages) wich is www.lycee-vvangogh.org. This school is considered as "international" because of the number of french kids (632) but also of different nationalities (english, dutch, german, polish, italian, ect...) from kindergarden to graduation. In High school they have about 2 classes per level. I am in a class of 19 kids, some from different countries but we all have in common the fact that we all speak french fairly well.
The building is divided in three different parts all with their own entrance (one for kindergarden, one for primary school and one for high school (grade 6 to 13). The recess areas are divided for the 3 parts, and they each use a different gymnasium.
Kindergarden and primary school eat lunch (prepared at home in a lunchbox)in their classrooms whereas we eat in a cafeteria but still with a lunchbox, we also are able to go and have a sandwich at the bar across from the school (we have to buy a ticket for a free lunch at the secretary's office . We barely have any recess hours at all (at lunch we have an hour only to eat, no recess after). On wednesdays we finish at five thirty pm and on other days at three thirty or at four thirty.
I sounds like a great school, you will find out more about the curicullum on monday when I go back and then get daily updates everyday.
I hope you enjoyed it. You will be getting some updates from time to time of the important things in school.
